Arts Programme & East Africa Creative Economy Scoping Report
In late 2013 the British Council commissioned a scoping study on the state of the Arts in East Africa focusing on Creative Economy, Music and Visual Arts. The countries scoped were Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia with a variety of stakeholders taking part including but not limited to commentators and cultural enthusiasts participating in this exercise. The exercise has since produced three detailed and eagerly anticipated reports.
As a re-launch of our Arts Programme in Kenya for the next three years, we intend to disseminate the reports coming out of this scoping study. We also wish to share the Edinburgh International Culture Summit report and to celebrate the legacy of past British Council Arts Programmes (WAPI, Creative Enterprise Diploma and Bring The Noize).
