Andrew Ochieng scored an enviable overall band score of 8.0 in the IELTS exam of 7th November 2015, giving him one of the top scores for that exam session.  Andrew, who sat for his IELTS exam at the British Council Nairobi office, scored an impressive 8.5 in the Listening Test, 8.5 in the Reading Test, 7.5 in the Writing Test and 7.0 in the Speaking Test.

He says what aided in him posting such impressive scores was the online practice materials. He dedicated time daily to log on to the free IELTS training course portal which gave him an idea of the requirements and structure of IELTS test. “It fully covered all my needs in preparing for  the  test, as it is so detailed, has lots of tips and tests that are similar to a real IELTS test. It’s a great tool for comfortable test preparation at your convenient time.” He says.

Andrew has applied for a Chevening scholarship for the 2016/2017 year and is hopeful to join either the University of Birmingham or University of Warwick in the UK for postgraduate studies on Communications Development.
