Cherubim Mawuli Amenyedor’s journey is characterized by transformation and dedication. While studying Industrial Art with a specialization in Ceramics at Kwame Nkrumah University in Ghana, he developed a strong interest in digital marketing during his time as a faculty editor. Recognizing the potential of digital marketing for content promotion, he began learning about this field, alongside acquiring skills in website development and blogging to support his career shift.

After graduating, Cherubim completed Ghana’s mandatory national service. During this time, he discovered the British Council’s Blazing Trails Programme, which equips graduates with essential employability skills. This programme gave Cherubim the confidence and foundational skills to pursue a successful career as a digital marketing and transformation strategist.

“The Blazing Trails Programme by the British Council not only imparted me with the skills I needed to set off my career but also gave me the much-needed confidence to start. I credit the programme for laying the foundation I needed,” Cherubim recalls.

Cherubim’s enthusiasm during the Blazing Trails Programme led to his first job with the British Council as a monitoring and evaluation officer for the same programme. After his contract ended, the British Council recommended him for a Marketing Associate position at Invest in Africa, marking the start of his marketing career.

Following several high-level roles in corporate settings, agencies, and entrepreneurial ventures, Cherubim pursued a second master’s degree in Digital Marketing through the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. The Chevening Scholarship supports emerging leaders in gaining skills and networks to drive positive change through a one-year master’s degree in the UK.

Upon returning home after his scholarship, Cherubim became actively involved in the Alumni UK programme by the British Council. This programme fosters a community of individuals who have studied in the UK and monitors their impact upon their return. Earlier this year, Cherubim was selected as an Ambassador of the Alumni UK programme for Western and Central Africa.

Cherubim, founder of his digital transformation agency Strimpe Ltd and Director of Digital Strategy and Marketing at Dominion TV in Ghana, expresses profound gratitude for the British Council’s impact on his career. He credits the Blazing Trails Programme for giving him the confidence to start his career and appreciates the opportunities provided by the Alumni UK community and various British Council events. These experiences have expanded his network and knowledge, helping him excel in his professional endeavors.
